ICT Dept Hallfield School, 48 Church Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 3SJ 0121 454 1496 informationtech@hallfield.bham.sch.uk Web 2.0 In the Classroom 23rd April 2009 ICT Training Day at Bilton Grange Following a very successful day at Hallfield School in November 2007, introducing Blogs, Podcasts and Wikis, the 2008-9 meeting is being hosted by Bilton Grange and will focus on using Web 2.0 technologies in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning. eLearning evangelists Drew Buddie (Head of ICT, Royal Masonic School, Rickmansworth) and Doug Belshaw (Teacher and E-Learning Staff Tutor, Ridgewood School, Doncaster), assisted by David Noble (Head of ICT, Bilton Grange), will be leading workshops on using a number of the most useful tools, including Google Docs, VoiceThread, Edmodo, Wordle and Twitter. All the tools we will be using are available for free! There will be plenty of opportunity for hands-on, and we also hope to include an opportunity for delegates to share their own use of Web 2.0 technologies. We will be inviting all those participating in the course to start the debate before the day its self, and further details will be emailed to those attending in due course. The cost of the day is £50.00 per delegate. A lunch and light refreshments will be provided. Further details will be forwarded by email on receipt of a completed pro-forma (below) or notification email to my self. With best wishes Patrick Florance ICT Secretary for Independent Schools’ Training Board. |
